  Around 8:25 a.m. BRT the central bank publishes the Focus survey, with new forecasts for the Selic rate, inflation, GDP and the exchange rate. It's the most watched release of the day, ahead of tomorrow's Copom minutes. At 3 p.m. Secex releases the weekly trade balance, a lower-impact number.

  Chicago Fed President Austan Goolsbee speaks in the morning, as markets digest last week's FOMC decision. The August Chicago Fed National Activity Index is out at 9:30 a.m. BRT, a moderate-impact release, plus routine 3- and 6-month T-bill auctions.
